MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION AND RIGHTS
1) A member must be the founder, co‐founder, owner, major shareholder of a qualified corporation or division of a business with a minimum annual sales of RM500,000.00 (Ringgit Malaysia Five Hundred Thousands Only). By laws may be introduced to increase this amount and conditions may be added, but always subject to the minimum annual sales stipulated in the constitution.
2) All member admitted must have a direct control or a significant influence in the day‐to‐ day business activities of the qualified corporation or division, and shall continuously maintain such authority so long they retain their memberships with the Society.
3) Membership is strictly by invitation only and subject to final approval of the Committee.
4) All members have equal voting rights.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
1) A person invited to join the Society should submit his/her particulars to the Committee with the application forms prescribed by the Society, duly proposed by the member who extended the invitation and seconded by another member.
2) An applicant must be at least twenty one (21) years old.
3) The Committee may request for more supporting documents from any applicant before proceeding further with the evaluation of the application. In addition, the committee is empowered to reject any applicant that does not satisfy the mandatory requirements.
4) The Committee reserves the rights to decide if it is necessary to arrange an informal meeting for the applicant to be interviewed by any 2 (two) Committee Members whose recommendations would be referred by the Committee when appraising the said application.
5) All applications, together with supporting document and recommendations of respective interviewers, shall be forwarded to the Honorary Secretary who should subsequently table the applications for final appraisal at the next Committee Meeting.
6) Consent of 2/3 (two third) majority from the Committee must be obtained before an application is approved. Notwithstanding any provision herein stated, the Committee may at its sole discretion reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.
7) The successful application shall be notified within 1 (one) month of the Committee’s approval.
8) Every applicant whose application has been approved as aforesaid shall, upon payment of the entrance fees and 1st (first) annual subscription be admitted as a member of the Society and shall be entitled to all privileges of membership, as well as be furnished with a copy of the Constitution and shall be deemed to have agreed to be bounded by the Constitution and all by‐ laws of the Society in force from time‐to‐time.
ENTRANCE FEES, SUBSCRIPTIONS AND OTHER DUES
1) The entrance fees and subscriptions of the Society will be determined as follows :‐ Entrance fee RM 1,000.00 (Ringgit Malaysia One Thousand) Annual subscriptions fee RM1,200.00 (Ringgit Malaysia One Thousand Two Hundred)
2) The annual subscriptions shall become due on 1st of Jan every year. All subscriptions shall be payable to the Treasurer in advance within 7 days of the due date.
3) Any member who allows his arrears with his subscription or other dies to exceed 2 (two) months, shall receive a written notification signed by or on behalf of the Society, and shall be denied the privileges of membership until he settles his account.
4) The Committee shall have the power to fix a re‐entrance fee for any person who has allowed his membership to lapse through arrears.
5) Special subscriptions or levies for particular purposes may be raised from members by resolution of the general meeting of the Society. If any member fails to pay such subscription within such period as may be resolved, the amount due shall be treated in the same way as arrears of annual subscriptions.
RESIGNATION & TERMINATION
1) Any member who wishes to resign from the Society shall give 4 (four) weeks’ notice in writing to the Secretary and shall pay up all dues.
2) The Committee may in its absolute discretion determine that a member ceases to be a member if the member:
(a) becomes of unsound mind;
(b) becomes bankrupt;
(c) does any act or omits to do any act in breach of the Act or any other legislation which is against the best interest of the Society;
(d) fall into arrears for over 3 (three) months provided that the Committee is satisfied that he received due notice of his debts ; or
(f) breaches of any rules and by‐laws of the Society
3) Any member who fails the requirements set forth in Rule 4 will be given 2 (two) years to meet the requirements, failing which, the committee may at its absolute discretion, disqualify the member from renewing his membership.
